Hi, I'm very new to website design and development and, as an experiment to prove to myself that can do it as much as anything else, I'm currently trying to put together a website which uses graphical buttons with rollover effects on a nav menu, with themed buttons and headers elsewhere on the pages. I'm wondering how people use Inkscape to generate these sorts of images for webpages; what's the process that people go through? I've been working with PNG exports in the main, but what if it's more suitable to use GIF or JPEG instead - it's mighty cumbersome to export images from Inkscape at both the correct resolution and size, and if a small tweak is required then it can turn into a frustrating cycle of trial and error. How do you guys cope with that and is there an efficient way of working with Inkscape? Please help. I didn't find the right solution from the Internet. Hi, I've been reading about (and reading and reading and reading) and, to some degree, experiencing the differences between Windows and the MacOS. I got into a discussion about Macs with a coworker today and he asked me why Apple computers are so heavily entrenched in the desktop publishing and graphic design industries. I was stumped. I'm primarily an NT user with some experience with Linux, but I've used the MacOS enough to be familiar with how to do this and that, but I guess I haven't used it enough to fall in love with it like some people. I'm not a graphic artist, so I probably don't have the correct perspective here, but I can't really see why the MacOS would be inherantly better for that type of work. <understatement> I know that Apples OS market share isn't what it used to be </understatement> and it's even slid some in the publishing and design industries, but Mac is still pretty much where it's at in design. Why is that? And how did it get started? Any help will be apprecited. I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.
